High Achieving Students Choose Miami University

Members of the Concert-Chorale and University Singers at the University of Findlay recently combined for two Christmas Concert performances.

More than 500 students earned endowed scholarships at Baldwin Wallace University this fall. BW has a long history of endowed scholarship support from alumni, faculty, trustees and friends. More than 385 named scholarships provide over $3 million to help students attend, persist and graduate from BW. Endowed scholarships vary in their requirements with many specifying financial need, a course of study, involvement on campus or a commitment to excellence in a particular field.

More than 400 first-year students welcomed to the Baldwin Wallace University campus this fall earned $5.2 million dollars in merit scholarships for their outstanding high school achievements. BW grants a wide range of scholarships to current students each year. Including merit and need-based scholarships, BW students received over $41 million in financial support from the University for the 2016-2017 academic year.

The University of Findlay recently welcomed new undergraduate and graduate students to campus for fall 2016. UF's total enrollment is over 4000 students.

Ohio Wesleyan University held its 172nd commencement ceremony on May 8, 2016. The OWU Class of 2016 included 390 spring, summer, and fall graduates, with 65 cum laude, 43 magna cum laude, and 20 summa cum laude honorees. Congratulations and best wishes to Ohio Wesleyan's newest alumni. OWU is proud of you!

The White Rose Ceremony is held annually in memory of Philura Gould Baldwin, granddaughter of BW founder John Baldwin and BW's first librarian. At the behest of the Baldwin family, an oration is given and select female graduates participate by carrying white roses that serve as a memorial to Philura whose life was cut short by tuberculosis at age 27. While no criteria must be met, each woman must have, in her own unique way, distinguished herself by making a difference in the BW community.

The Center for Innovation & Growth is pleased to name its 2016-17 CIG Growth Practice Interns. The 10 high-achieving students from a broad array of backgrounds work as part of a project team on professional consulting projects for CIG clients, including Cliffs Natural Resources, GOJO, Parker Hannifin, OEC, Westfield and more. They conduct secondary market research and primary market research using Voice of the Customer methodology, delivering results and recommendations in client boardroom presentations. Interns complete 4 weeks of presentation coaching and attend Entrepreneur Tours, meeting and learning from area innovators while building social capital. The internships are made possible through the generous support of The Philip E. & Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation, which pledged $1M to fund the Ratcliffe Student Fellows Program and its complementary internship program within CIG's Growth Practice. The Foundation's goal is to support students in developing entrepreneurial skillsets.

John Carroll University celebrated 2016 Commencement on Sunday, May 22. Approximately 650 undergraduate and 200 graduate degrees were awarded.

Ohio Wesleyan University is pleased to announce its 2016 spring semester Dean's List. To qualify for OWU Dean's List recognition, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale in all applicable classes. Congratulations, Bishops, on this outstanding academic achievement!

Twenty-eight exceptional student writers and artists at Baldwin Wallace University are featured in the 2016 edition of BW's annual literary and art journal, "The Mill." The student-directed and student-operated publication showcases the creative achievements of gifted students from across campus disciplines.

A group of 13 John Carroll students are winners of recent Model Arab League competitions. Similar to the Model United Nations program, Model Arab League (MAL) is a debate simulation based on the League of Arab States that provides students with the opportunity to learn about the politics and history of the Arab world, diplomacy, and public speech. It is sponsored by the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations.

More than 800 students from across Ohio presented the results of their year-long community health projects at the fourth annual HPAC Scholars Day.
